Summary:
Stafford’s Bakery is recalling certain batches of their carrot cakes and coffee cakes as they may be unsafe for consumers who are allergic to or intolerant of walnuts.
Message:
Walnuts are ingredients of the above cakes. Walnuts were not declared on the ingredients list of Stafford’s Quality 5” Carrot cake and were not correctly emphasised on the ingredients list of Stafford’s Luxury Coffee Gateau. This may make the batches unsafe for consumers who are allergic to or intolerant of walnuts. As a result, the implicated batches of these products are being recalled.Update on 03/09/19: Sulphites have been removed from this allergen alert - although present in both cakes, the level in the 5" Carrot Cake is below the limit of 10 mg/kg and so does not need to be emphasised in the ingredients list.
