Recall of Additional Batch of Bottled Water Bottled by Celtic Pure due to Microbiological Contaminat

Summary:
Category 1 Food Alert for Action: An additional batch of water bottled by Celtic Pure is subject to recall due to the presence of Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

Message:
Further to the FSAI food alerts 2019.42 and 2019.42 Update 1, the FSAI has been notified of the above additional batch of Applegreen bottled still water bottled by Celtic Pure in which Pseudomonas aeruginosa was detected.  This batch does not comply with the legal requirements.  This implicated batch is unsafe or potentially unsafe and is subject to recall.For more information, please see statement: https://www.fsai.ie/news_alert/bottled_water_21102019.html.  Update of 25.10.2019: Please find a consolidated list of all implicated bottled waters and batches subject to recall due to microbiological contamination.  

Nature Of Danger:
Pseudomonas aeruginosa poses a higher risk of complications if consumed by severely immunocompromised people such as those who have undergone transplants or chemotherapy. It rarely causes illness in healthy individuals.

Action Required:

Manufacturers, wholesalers, distributors, caterers & retailers:
Retailers are requested to remove the implicated batch from sale. Retailers are also advised to display a point-of-sale recall notice in stores where the implicated batch was sold.

Consumers:
Consumers are advised not to drink the implicated bottled water.
