Listeria monocytogenes is a bacterium that is commonly present in the environment and in food.

The FSAI has published this report to raise awareness and to help minimise the potential risks  of  foodborne  human  infection  with L. monocytogenes.

This  report  is  intended  to  be  a  source document for food businesses. However, much of the detail will also be useful for members of  the  public,  health  care  professionals  and public policy makers seeking information on foodborne  listeriosis.
